Common Questions
Do you inspect every vehicle?
We perform a FREE
15-Point Inspection on every vehicle that enters our shop unless otherwise
requested.
Is the oil you’re putting in my car the right type for the way I drive?
We always recommend using the proper oil weight and viscosity as specified
by the manufacturer.
Is an oil filter change included with this service?
Our oil change
includes a new filter, oil, and chassis lube if necessary.
Belts_and_Hoses. What’s the difference between a V-belt and a
serpentine belt?
A V belt is a heavier belt whose cross section looks like a
V. A serpentine belt is not as thick as a V belt, but is wider.
How does the work being performed eliminate the symptoms my car
exhibited or my complaint?
Generally, upon meeting our customer and
getting the required customer information regarding their vehicle, we notate
your vehicle service or issue needing to be addressed, and hand off to a
qualified technician who will proceed to service and/or diagnose your car. When
the diagnosis is complete, we will discuss your concerns and any safety issues
noted upon completion of the inspection.
Are there any related services my car needs while this service is being
performed?
In addition to our 15-point inspection, we review the
Manufacturer Specifications and Recommended Service Intervals to help determine
whether or not the vehicle is due for any other services
My Check Engine Light is on, does my car need a tune-up?
If you see a
"check engine" or a "service engine soon" light in your instrument cluster; your
car has stored a diagnostic trouble code. The computer system on your vehicle
has detected a problem within various systems it controls. It does not always
signify a tune up is needed, but a simple Computer Diagnostic will provide us
with the trouble code needed to diagnose the concern farther.
Does my alignment needs to be checked?
We perform a visual inspection at
no charge; a periodic inspection of the suspension parts and tire wear can help
catch alignment issues.
Are there other problems related to alignment such as worn steering
and suspension parts?
Worn parts, such as tie rod ends and ball joints wear out over time.
These parts play a key role in the proper alignment of a vehicle.
Has my car been road-tested to ensure that it performs properly and that
my complaint has been corrected?
A final test drive will determine that the job
is complete and the complaint corrected.
My car shakes at certain speeds…what causes this?
Improper wheel balancing
can cause vibration that can be felt in the steering wheel or seat.
A musty odor comes out of the A/C vents at times. Can anything be done
about this?
Newer vehicles have what is called a "cabin air filter." Unlike the
engine air filter(which filters the engine air), it filters the air you breathe
inside the vehicle- similar to your a/c filter in your home.
